Meet the Pipe Band Team

Martha Hall

Martha Hall is a proud Upland High School Pipe Band Alum. She is a college math professor by day and bagpipe instructor by night. Martha enjoys spending time with her family, teaching, riding her bike, going to Disneyland, and performing all over the world.

Ireland Rosa

Ireland Rosa is a proud Upland High School Alum, hard working student and a musician of over 10 years. She plays and teaches the tenor and bass drums. She likes going to concerts, comic books/video games, being with friends & family, helping others, and having good laughs.

Tyler Anderson

Tyler Anderson is from Ontario, CA and an Upland High School alum. Tyler is a gigging and performing musician, and has been a competitive piper in the Western United States Pipe Band Association’s band and solo circuits for ten years. Tyler takes every opportunity to show students how pipes and drums can open doors in one’s life. Music has taken him across the country and around the world, and he wants it to do the same for his students.

Andrew

Andrew is from San Ramon, CA. He started drumming in 2000 with the Alameda County Sheriff’s Pipe Band and currently plays with the Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band. Outside of a 22 year career in bands, he also is an accomplished soloist, having been a finalist for the 2010 United States Juvenile Solo Snare Drumming Championships, the 2022 Grade 2 Snare Drumming Champion at both the Caledonian Club of San Francisco’s Annual Gathering and the British Columbia Pipers' Annual Gathering, and the 2020 World Online Bass Drumming Champion. Andrew is a bass and snare drumming instructor with clients in both the Inland Empire and SF Bay Area.

Seumas Coyne

Seumas Coyne started playing bagpipes at the age of 3 ½ years old and competing at the age of 7. He became an open class player at the age of 12 and still holds the world record for being the youngest bagpiper to turn professional.

Seumas is a highly sought after teacher, composer, performer, and adjudicator. He is an award winning professional solo competitor and is a member of the 6-time World Champion, Simon Fraser University Pipe Band.
