Next Parent Meeting – DATE CHANGE!
The next parent meeting will be held on Thursday, August 16 at 7pm in the UHS cafeteria.  Please plan to attend.  These meetings are very important and are full of information that you will need to help your child have a successful Regiment season.  It is also a great way to get to know the folks on the Booster Board, and meet other parents from within your child’s section. Parent involvement is one of the keys to our success!

Parking Lot Safety **VERY IMPORTANT**
When picking up your child from any band activities, please do not loiter along the red curb in front of the band room or park in handicapped spots if you do not possess a handicapped plate or placard.  Doing this endangers all who walk across that lane into the parking lot.  Please park in a spot in the parking lot and wait for your child.  The Upland Police Department does patrol our lot at night and they will ticket you. 

Fundraising Fun!
We have some terrific fundraising opportunities coming up that you don’t want to miss!

Start saving your shoes….
From July 31 thru September 25th, we will be collecting shoes for Cash4Shooz!  Your shoes will be recycled, repaired and sent to third world countries!  Please go through your closets at home and gather pairs of shoes than no one in your home is wearing anymore. Please bring them to the band room and place them in the box marked with your student’s grade level. The more we collect the more money we will earn.   IMPORTANT: The shoes MUST be in PAIRS!  Please tie or rubber band them together.

Mixed Bag Designs Fundraiser
From July 31 thru August 28th, we will have the Mixed Bag sale! (Available both via catalog and online).  Mixed Bag offers a terrific line of useful bags to fit any need as well as iPod and iPhone cases.  They have a fabulous array of prints and styles! 50% of the profit from this fundraiser will go to student accounts (40% if the order is collected online and shipped to out of town friends and family).  Pick up a catalog at Scrip or visit the web site at www.mixedbagdesigns.com.

Entertainment Books and Community Cards
This popular fundraiser will take place from August 13 – September 25.  The cost of the community cards is $10 and the entertainment books are $30.  These cards and books can also be ordered for out of town family and friends and are a great way to earn money for your student account!  See Lesa Kunelis at Scrip, after Tuesday night practices, at Family Night or at the Food Truck Frenzy!

Students Interested in Pipe Band?
Drummers and pipers are needed for Pipe Band and NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY! Practice is held every Thursday night in the band room.  For more information, please contact Pipe Mom – Kim Stevens at 909-938-4356.

The Pipe Band also performs at events for a small fee!  Contact Kim Stevens for more information and book the pipers for your next event!

Back by popular demand! The UHRB Food Truck Frenzy!
After an overwhelming response for our first ever food truck frenzy, we are getting ready to do it again! So, mark your calendars for Saturday, September 22nd.  Get set to eat and volunteer your time as well!  We will need lots of parent and student volunteer hours to make this event another HUGE and YUMMY success!

Many of you have taken advantage of learning how to utilize your Scrip account online and really make it work for you!  Now you can reload your Target cards and also purchase Scripnow! from Best Buy!  During the month of August, these local retailers have added bonuses if you purchase their gift cards:
